This 'Parabolic Situation' puts me in mind of The Doom Ray in the (very) cult Sci-fi comedy, Hyperdrive.
The Ray can completely disintegrate a person. As long as they stay perfectly still for Three Days

I've read on wiki that the architect Rafael Vinoly of 20 Fenchurch Street also designed the Vdara Hotel in Las Vegas which has the same "death ray" problem.

I thought this would happen. A reflective parabolic shape will focus light on something. It is just a matter of where. It has melted luxury cars and fried an egg! This has made American national news.

I just hope that the fix for the windows will only be a non-reflective surface treatment, like ceramic fritting or a high quality plastic film. Otherwise, they will have to twist the windows to remove the concentration. Option three would be to add a NY Times tower like shading system to the exterior to block most of the sun's rays from ever reaching the glass. Done correctly, it could be incredibly beautiful.

Despite The Mocking, which I've taken part in , I do like this Building.

Also. I'm pretty sure something can be done about this.
Remember what happened when The Millennium Bridge first opened (wobbly)? Some further engineering later, the bridge is fine.........

I bet they will add some horizontal fins, similar to those on the sides, every floor to lessen the impact of the reflective rays.

At least they don't have to worry about the shadow the new tower is throwing on this side .

This will be solved easily - Canary Wharf will throw money at the problem until it is eventually solved. On the grand scheme of things it will not matter too much - PLUS it gives publicity to the skyscraper AND London's ambitious Skyscraper campaign.
