That scale model only shows the volume to build.

There is no project still.

¡Two 75-storey towers!

@Chad: Madrid Arena, AZCA and Chamartin operation (about 15 new towers) are closely, but this towers are so far. The idea is to create a new financial center in south madrid. Also they have proposed towers in the others quarters near Valdecarros. They are trying to link this new quarters with the city. Valdecarros will lodge 150.000 inhabitants! and this new quarter, with the near ones, will lodge about 1 million people, all inside Madrid city, not metroarea! Also they will link Madrid with the southern cities, and this way, they will contribute to create great madrid.

Anyway, the city council has said that the tallest madrid building, and the more important financial district, will continue being the northern one. So, i guess two thinks. Or Chamartin grows so high (at least a tower 350+m), or this towers will be smaller, about 200+ or 250+.

Great news for madrid. Proposals are the beginning. I hope at least one 350+ tower will be constructed. Not soon, but before 2015.

I know it
I said that Chamartin will lodge the taller tower of the city, so, this means twice:
- Chamartin will lodge a tower of, at least, 350+ ( please god! ). Or
- This towers will be reduced.

Oh my gosh!!!!

I hope Operacion Chamartin goes ahead soon. Are there any real evidences that this is happening? And the two 75-story towers, are they approved or something?

I hope it happens, as it will be impressive.

Viva Madrid! De Madrid al cielo (pero a este paso cogiendo uno de los ascensores de estas torres).

I love the idea of these buildings going up in Madrid, but I wish they would built them within the current cluster.

People love clusters but generally hate solitary towers. I believe this is one of the reasons skyscrapers are so frowned upon in Europe - in the past most cities ignored clusters and just built single towers which the locals found stood out of place.

It seems they still haven't learnt

Dont worry, Madrid should see a cluster with several skyscrapers raise in the northern part of the city (Operación Chamartín) in a "near" future.

If these towers rise, madrid probably will have two clusters in the future! There also exist planned towers near Valdecarros. Obviously, the northern cluster will be higher than the other one.

IMO, I prefer just one, a bigger one, but what can we do?
