New York City is one of the greatest metropolitan areas in the world. It's fascinating to see the rapid evolution of its skyline from 1879 to 2013, when One World Trade Center will be complete. Within that long time frame, the city has lived through many trans formative events, including the Great Depression in the 30's and September 11th in 2001. One can only wonder what it will look like over the next 100 years, especially as technology exponentially advances and global warming becomes a more pronounced concern.

My city sucks. a lot of our skyline has disappeared in the last two years thanks to the earthquakes.

in 2013, there will be even less.
it will probably never recover thanks to a new 28m (~7 floor) height limit.

Shame that Toronto got so badly covered by those ugly condos.

I would have to disagree completely. The condos add depth and balance to our skyline and make our city much more active. Years ago downtown was deserted at night, now it's always busy.

Empty parking lots become well designed homes for people.

Toronto is being revitalized and we are definitely moving in the right direction!

The condos have given Toronto a world class skyline.
