Ok I'm going to try something new. I saw Luka posting regular news concerning projects / other development going on in Serbia, so I'll do just that for Kyiv. There will be a Original and English version available. So first news:
ORIGINAL В 2009 году в центре Киева (бул. Тараса Шевченко, 28-30) планируют ввести в эксплуатацию пятизвездочную гостиницу. Однако компания “Международно-деловой центр”, которая финансирует строительство отеля, уже заключила договор о передаче своего объекта в управление международной гостиничной сети Hilton, имеющей более 2800 отелей в 80 странах мира. В новой гостинице будет 257 номеров, 11 залов для переговоров, бальный зал вместимостью 350 человек, два ресторана, бары, а также spa-центр. Оценивается данный проект в 70 млн. евро. ENGLISH In 2009 in the center of Kyiv (Taras Shevchenko's bul., 28-30) they plan to put into use five-star confrontation hotel. The company "International- business center", which finances the building of the hotel, already concluded the agreement about the transfer of its object to control of the international hotel network 'Hilton', which has more than 2800 hotels in 80 countries of the world. In the new hotel will be 257 numbers, 11 halls for the negotiations, dance hall the capacity of 350 people, two restaurants, bars, and also spa- center. The cost of the project is 75 million euro.

Work continues on Podil'skij Bridge
ORIGINAL Такой огромный мост строится в Украине впервые. Роботы ведутся круглосуточно. Длина двухярусного гиганта будет достигать семи километров. Нижним этажом будут курсировать поезда метрополитена, верхний - шестиполосная трасса. В настоящее время производится монтаж моста через Десенку.В этом году планируется положить асфальтовое покрытие на набережно-рыбацком участке. Удастся ли открыть здесь движение транспорта до конца года - пока еще не известно. Загадывать заранее строители не берутся. По прогнозу экспертов, до 2020 года в столице будет более миллиона автомобилей. Поэтому Подольско-Воскресенский мост - неотложная потребность Киева. И мечта автомобилистов, которые смогут меньше стоять в заторах и быстрее доезжать к пункту назначения. ENGLISH This enormous bridge is constructed in Ukraine for the first time. Work is conducted twenty-four hours. The length of two-layer giant will reach seven kilometers. On the lower level will be the metro, upper level - six-strip road. At present is produced the installation of the bridge through Desenku. In this year it is planned to place asphalt coating in the embankment- fishing section. It will be possible to open here the motion of transport prior to the end of the year - thus far it is not yet known. To conjecture previously builders are not taken. According to the forecast of experts, up to 2020 in the capital there will be more than million automobiles. Therefore Podolskiy- Sunday bridge - is in the pressing need of Kyiv.

I admire Kiev in the way it FULLY utilizes its waterfront. With all these projects, its beginning to remind me of Miami.
It would be very nice if some the guys behind these project would visit Belgrade and give us a little lesson

that looks truly amazing....nice job kyiv, your city impresses me every day, and I seriously think it has the potential to become something like warsaw and its going very well to get there by looking at the pictures and development
