French & German Dom | Berlin, Germany

On Gendarmenmark the German Dom stands across from the French Dom, which was built during the same period and which looks entirely similar to the Deutschen Dom, and beside the Schauspielhaus, which Karl Friedrich Schinkel. This church, which Martin Grünberg designed, was built in 1701-08 by Giovanni Simonetti. The original church, which was conceived as being without a Tower, consisted of a five-sided central building, which was expanded into five structures that form half circles. In 1780-85 Friedrich der Große commissioned Karl von Gontard to redesign the two churches on Gendarmenmark. A cylindrical tower with a cupola, which was built over the temple-like and cubic base structure and which twelve columns surrounded, was added to each church.

8.0 for the churches, a 10.0 for the great square.

Beautiful churches and a beautiful square!

They are not real cathedrals (Dom), right? There are just called that...?

Probably the most beautiful square in Berlin I especially like this place during the christmas time, when there's a huge & expansive christmas market

Probably it is

But some of the post-war buildings around the place are ruining it a lil bit... Someone should torn them down and rebuild the beautiful old ones! And maybe they could bring back parts of the former glory of the place in front.

And guess what this is... You have 3 attempts.
