Those chairs in the NAB photos are worth $1000 a pop. Crazy stuff. It's a shame they don't have them at all the other NAB locations.

Harbour's green tinge
Nicole Lindsay 13 March 2007 Herald-Sun THE newest building at Docklands' Digital Harbour precinct has just won a five-star green star rating certificate and is heading towards a 4.5 star Australian Greenhouse rating. Digital Harbour developer David Napier has been aboard the environmentally sustainable design bandwagon for several years. The Digital Harbour precinct was always earmarked to be a high-technology area and environmentally sustainable design is at the cutting edge of new building technologies. The newest building at Digital Harbour, Port 1010, will be anchored by Australian Customs' 10,000sq m headquarters. Other tenants in the 15,500sq m building include VicTrack, which has taken out 3100sq m on the top floor and the Bureau of Meteorology, which has signed a heads of agreement to lease the sixth floor. The BOM is understood to have outgrown its space at 700 Bourke St and needed room for staff working on the Federal Government's drought monitoring initiative. The 1010 La Trobe St building will be a significant water saver. It boasts a blackwater treatment plant that will reduce consumption by 70 per cent. "That's very timely in these times of water conservation," Mr Napier said. The developer set out with plans to achieve a four-star certificate and a four-star ABGR rating. "But we promised low and aimed high and actually achieved a five star green star rating and look like getting a 4.5 star ABGR," Mr Napier said. "We didn't want to misrepresent what we could achieve. "We thought it was prudent in an area that is still emerging. "Everyone is still coming to terms with what it means. We were able to achieve a green ESD-conscious building without pushing rents above market rates." The building also has solar collectors to heat water and automatic lighting options which turn off when no-one is in the room or when outside light is at its brightest. "We also managed to have Customs accept a no-ceiling option," Mr Napier said. This means there is easy access to the cabling often hidden by ceilings. "We worked closely with Customs and their co-operation helped us to lift the bar to get the five-star green rating," Mr Napier said. Port 1010 is the third building for Digital Harbour after the Innovate incubator project and the home office development, Life.lab. Next on the drawing board is 1000 La Trobe St, a 13-level 32,5000sq m office building. The precinct got off to a rocky start launching during the technology slump of the early 2000s. "It was a tough start for us but the technology sector can only stay down so long. It drives all businesses," Mr Napier said. "Things are starting to work. It's got a critical mass now." Digital Harbour is partly owned by investment bank Babcock & Brown, JGL Investments and three individuals, including Mr Napier.

The First Render: So is it just me being totally blind or was the wavy line never implemented?
The Second Render: What about this one, wasn't it supposed to be second stage for Digital Harbour, did something happen to skip to 1010?

Complete redesign. Partially due to the fact that they wouldn't have been able to offload the tower component. It's a shame, cause I like the old design better. Oh, and are they EVER going to put up the red flash streaky thingy ont he side of the Innovation building?

1000 LaTrobe St. Looks cool. Will it actually start construction soon or are they still tenant hunting?

I hope they get the glass right, if so it'll look really good, those stairs are quite funky. Are those shops down the bottom? Or just the foyer of the building?

90% of the time the glass shown in the renders doesn't look anything like the glass that is actually used on a tower anyways.
