Is the LIC building still the tallest in Chennai? Nice pics, BTW.

for some of the IT Parks thats coming up in chennai
check out the link in
http://www.elcot.com/
Click on IT Parks link on the bottom of the page.
There are renderings of a bunch of Private IT Parks.

For some reason the site doesn't show the full URL, so couldn't cut and paste
the link.

The Arihant Narayana Oceans Tower [38, Wallajah Road, Triplicane, Chennai- 600 005, if it exists] may be one of the tallest at 18 floors. It's a shame that there is not a single photo of this building. And the Arihant website is so unsophisticated.

I read somewhere that The TIDEL park was one of the tallest [although it doesn't have that many floors]. Maybe someone can e-mail TIDEL park and find out the height?

Too bad that Chennai's tallest is just 17 stories. I would be happy if Chennai had a couple of 40-50 stoired buildings. I don't want Chennai to acquire that many high rises. It should try to be a nicer city, with good MRTS and stuff. I somehow can't imagine Chennai with a Mumbai like skyline.

According to this website, Tidel Park has 13 floors
http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=104431

I searched on both www.itparkchennai.com and www.tidco.com
both the sites doesn't mention the no. of floors in tidel park, which is pathetic.

yeah. Chennai is one of those cities with hardly any highrises, I guess some of the reasons pointed out was water problem etc. not sure what the exact problem was.

I remember the only cluster of high rise building that too only 10 floors was the
Parsn apts in Pantheon Road, Egmore.

One good thing , atleast now the buildings look much more modern compared
to the box style in the 80s and early 90s.

Arihant has really made the li'le known Chennai skyline look much modern.
