350m Pyramide Skyscraper in Hamburg

I tink this deserves an own Thread.

Plans for the new Chicago Square have been anounced yesterday to honor the two cities 10 year partnership.

If that's one is 350m, those others are at least 250m too!

If this will become reality, Hamburg defeates Frankfurt

Look at all those 80m towers on the left, that's just superdense!

At the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of Hamburg’s Sister City partnership with Chicago, Hamburg’s Minister responsible for urban development and environment, Dr. Michael Freytag, unveiled the City’s plans to develop a ‘Chicago Square’ area, with surrounding high-rise buildings, in the Elbbrücken district (east-end of the Hafencity). The plans will draw heavily on the high-rise expertise of architects from Chicago.

great to see they're seriously considering a project of this scale

i have my doubts though, i don't think this will ever go through with such tall high-rises
people will complain and the project has to go through zillions of trials

on the other hand, i can't imagine any investors will be available for this, at least not from germany!

in other words: i believe this project has to go a long way and in the end once again people have discussed and have been quarreling for years and it will remain another vision

i hope they can prove me wrong though, germany needs a big push and hamburg certainly deserves it!

Btw, it looks a bit like the LBT in London. But the whole plan is defenitly incredible!

I can assure you that Hamburg is rising on my hotspots list already, if this will be built only more.

Skyscrapers in this area were already proposed in the masterplan of the Hafencity.
So I think that there is a good chance that these will be built.

Would be europes tallest, right?

Or are there any taller ones planned in London or Moscow etc.

Wow, I did not know such a thing existed. Many Chicago architectural firms too. How likely is it that the winning masterplan is actually built?

I guess Moscow planned a bigger one in the financial centre. Madrid also planned two 350m towers, but we haven't got a masterplan now.

The pyramyd looks greeeeeeeeeEaaat!
I like too the twins with skybridges, really cool
Finally, the cylinder.. not a big fan.. I guess it doesn't fix well in this master plan. All the building has straight lines, but this one breaks the criteria.. Anyway this masterplan is really cool, huge, a great development for hamburg!

Congratulations

These are not the final plans. They are in the beginning of the process and are just collecting ideas.

A 350m tall tower in Germany ......
You could build for the same amount of money the Burj Dubai and the SWFC

I hope they will build such a tall skyscraper in Germany. But i am a little bit pessimistic.

Erm, it was not a competition. It was just collecting ideas, as I've said already.

I'm very much hoping that one of those proposals might become reality and Hamburg finally awakes from its smalltown-ish snooze!

In Germany alone, 12 other cities have taller highrises than Hamburg! How can that be? Hamburg is Germany's 2nd-biggest city but got surpassed by so many other cities in the past few decades in respect of highrise architecture.
