Wichita

Love this website. New poster here.

I recently moved to Wichita, Kansas, and although not a gigantic city like Dallas or NYC, the metro is now close to 700,000 people (I know, I was surprised too!). The city itself its over 350,000 people as of 2005. My question is, besides 2 or 3 tall buildings (I guess one, the Epic Center, as its called could be described as a Skyscraper), there aren't many skyscrapers at all. For a city of its aize, I cannot understand why. There is plenty of money here, and they are developing downtown pretty nicely. In fact, sometimes during the week its pretty busy down there. There are other cities with half the population that have larger skylines.

Does anyone know why? Thanks!

I don't know too much about Wichita, so all I can really tell you is that some cities just choose not to build tall.

Welcome to the forums, btw.
