Sure, it is a typical design of Cesar Pelli, so you could have seen something like this before, but I don't think about it precisely as a copy.

By this week is happening in Santiago an event called "Expo Alemania" (Expo Germany) where manufacturers, retailers, etc, between Chile and Germany gathers to generate business. Cencosud, owner of this project is property of chilean-german businessman Horst Paulmann, and they had a stand with its more important facts, where obviously the masterpiece was the Costanera Center, showed as this fantastic scale model.

This model really helps to understand the massive scale of the project !. I pass near the construction site almost every day.
Some parts of the construccion seems more slower than usual, but now, seeing the model, I understand this apparent delay, ... the complicated interaction among the buildings and the mall is not an easy task to do!

Great pictures

a nice looking tower. The top seems open ended. Could it be that they designed it that way, as to add extra floor s at a later stage? That tower can grow taller, if thay wanted to.

In fact, some time ago (last month I guess) they announced the number of floors will be increased from 60 to 70, maintaining the height, though.

All my best.

I just pass near the construction site, and a new type of molding for concrete has been installed on tower 2 (the one of 300m). From now on, all heights between floors in this tower are equal. This allow a more easy installation of the molding, which permit a more rapidly construction.
