The pic is a bit old, it shows Titanium tower still U/C and Costanera Center on hold, but in the past days they have added one more floor to the Grand Costanera tower.

That effect is possible in a much better way with a special lens called "Lens Baby", only for DSLR cameras.
Check this out: Lensbaby

But this photographer did it by himself using photoshop with layers and bluring masks, its easy, but is hard to get good results. IMO, the picture is bad.

Javier, from a photographically technical point of view, as I infer is how you're judging the photo, it may be "bad", and you may be right after all is your educated opinion. But for someone like me who is not fully versed in photography, neither am I technical about it, I give it a thumbs up anyway.

Going back to the tower itself, do you think if it hadn't been on hold for most of last year, it would have by now reached the top floor?

Jejeje me dejé llevar por el crítico fotero que llevo dentro, pero todo bien amigo.
I was carried away by my inner photography critic, but it's all ok buddy.

I think that could be probably right, because the tower was stopped exactly a year ago. The reinforced concrete structure of the tower should be finished by this month, reaching 70 levels. The speed of construction before the pause was about 4 floors by month.

Santiago has one of the most beautiful "mountain skylines" in the world. With a few more glass beauties such as this it will be unmatched.

sorry to sound a bit stubborn here, but this is not correct. Mexico used to have the highest GDP per capita some years ago (I think 3 or 4), but according to the same and latest (2009) source you mentioned "World Bank", Chile has the higher GDP per capita meanwhile.

Cheers

Not to mention the percentage of poverty in MX is a lot higher than CL (> 30%, taken by the average of the 3 categories of poverty indexes in MX, vs < 14% in CL), and 40% of MX's GDP comes from US dollars produced by migrants to the US, so it's not even money produced in the country, but it still accounts as part of the local GDP as it is produced by Mexican citizens abroad. Take that out of the equation and MX's economy would be tons worse.

Sorry for the off topic but there is a different perception out there, you just have to look at the numbers.

Anyway, Costanera Tower rocks!

Here we go again... like I see, people are still discussing which country is better, which is richer.... this thread is about the tower and its progress not really about the country
