City hall has now tweeted that the station will not close.

The whole matter is very shady and suspicious. There must be a lot of pressuring and posturing in the background, all at the expense of the confidence of the traveling public. Either the station is safe or unsafe - it can't be both.

New Petrovsko-Razumovskaya station northbound platform for Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya line will open on 29th August. Existing northbound platform will be temporarily deactivated and turned into southbound platform for Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line, when the extension is completed:

New Petrovsko-Razumovskaya station northbound platform for Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya line is now opened. Some said that this is 201st metro station in the network, but I suggest that 201st will be Butyrskaya. Why? Because to me, this is just the opening of new platform for station, but when Line 10 will be extension, I say, I will count as new station. And not 201st, but 203rd:

If its one station name, it should be counted as one station. If its two station names, count it as two stations. That simple.

Well, speaking by constructive terms, there will be two different stations connected between together via transfer. Therefore, Petrovsko-Razumovskaya is still considered as one station, although with two underground halls. So, when Line 10 will be extended on north, it will be considered as two stations with transfer between together. The similar case was with Park Pobedy station which was opened in 2003 with two underground halls but counted as one station within for 10 years - before the opening of the first segment of Solntsevsky Radius.

In Moscow, each transfer station is officially counted as one. As for naming - that's just issue of organization and policy. For example, all transfer stations to the Ring Line which were built in 1930s-1960s, has same names (Komsomolskaya, Park Kultury, Paveletskaya, etc). However, those transfer stations which were built in 1970s-1980s has other names than Ring Line stations (like Barrikadnaya-Krasnopresnenskaya, Marksistskaya-Taganskaya, Mendeleevskaya-Novoslobodskaya, etc). It nothing changes in the system of official counting.

Nowadays there exist such rule - all stations of each future transfer node should have different names (like it will be realized at Third Interchange Contour) except those stations with will provide cross-platform interchange, i.e. each underground hall will be used for serving of trains at different lines (like it will be realized at Petrovsko-Razumovskaya station in near future).

Botanichesky sad station with new signs featuring the map of the line and showing interchange to Inner Railway Ring Line (MK MZD, see the thread nearby). The MK MZD is scheduled to open on September 10, adding 31 new stations and 54 km of tracks to the whole system.

For example, in 1943 (during WWII) there was opened Paveletskaya station on the Line 2. Six years later, in 1950, there was opened station with same name on the Ring Line. Within next three years, these stations operated without any connection with each other and only in 1953 there was opened first transfer between them.

Even though I understand some Russian, it is good to see that the station signs now have the English translations Though--if you plan on visiting <<Matiya Rossiya>>--it is probably a good idea to learn some Russian. IMO, easier and more logical than so-called <<amerikanskii angliski>>.

Was that a new regulation that was passed that the station signs had to be in both Russian and English?
