It has been suggested . . . see here:

If the monorail is torn down and sent piece-by-piece to a monorail-savvy nation like Brazil, Japan or China, then I doubt that planes will be involved, as you suggest. They'll probably send the monorail by ship instead.

Incidentally, Ulitsa Dybenko is also the name of the eastern terminus of Line 4 in St Petersburg.
Impressive!

I read long time ago that all new stations would have signs written in Latin letters as well in Metro.
What happened to them? All pics seem to have only sighs in kyrillic...

They are working on this issue. I'm still have little hope this will be done with some respect to the architecture and aesthetics of the stations - not so rough and primitive as it was realized in St. Petersburg

It's not an issue at all. You don't have to know Russian language to read signes. They are all symbolic.

Not the ones for the station names. Only Fukuoka and Mexico City use pictograms for station names.

It's impossible to dub station names on signs listing all stations, because then they will be twice larger and will cause large problems for locals. Maps have dubbed station names.

All the rest is symbolic.

Some 1 - 1,5 hours ago. Medvedkovo:

Once again, they've put low-quality asphalt around.

28 .05. 2012.

As I could see, they're still working, polishing walls and mounting different stuff.

The opening of the Northern entrance of Babushkinskaya is now scheduled July, 1st! It means escalators will be going to be upgraded within more than 1 year. Damn.

I managed to stick my iPhone through to capture what's going on there. However, the shot came out poor:

1 .06. 2012.

And some good news - finally Medvedkovo southern entrance is opened!

Something inscribed right before the escalators. They didn't erase it.

Some infrastructure for disabled blind people:

And finally an access ramp for those who can't walk:

1 .06. 2012.

Night City, you must live on the northside of Moscow if you're bringing us so many updates about the goings on at the far end of the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line. Anything interesting going on at Sviblovo or Botanicheskiy Sad stations this summer?
