AlexeyVT, Reutov is not a town, it's a big city actually. A town is like our big village, no more.

Woonsocket54, not exactly. I live in the north but not close to this line. And there was just a couple of updates from me on Medvedkovo. The point is that I've got a little bit more free time now and I haven't been there for quite some time, so I decided to go there to see what was going on.

As for Sviblovo, there are too development project, right near the station, but they both are low-rise: a commercial center and an office building which is some 70 m high. I guess it would not be interesting for the majority of folks out here. However, you can visit my Yandex gallery and see them.

Near Botanichesky Sad nothing is happening.

I don't agree. Here is info from Wikipages:

A town is a human settlement larger than a village but smaller than a city. The size definition for what constitutes a "town" varies considerably in different parts of the world, so that, for example, many "small towns" in the United States would be regarded as villages in the United Kingdom, while many British "small towns" would qualify as cities in the United States.

Unlike English, the Russian language does not distinguish the terms "city" and "town" - both are translated as "город" ("gorod"). Traditionally, the term "city" is applied to large metropolitan areas and the term "town" - to smaller urban localities. Occasionally the term is applied to urban-type settlements as well, even though the status of those is not the same as that of a city/town proper.

In Russia, the criteria an inhabited locality needs to meet in order to be granted city/town (gorod) status vary in different federal subjects. In general, to qualify for this status, an inhabited locality should have more than 12.000 inhabitants and the occupation of no less than 85% of inhabitants must be other than agriculture. However, inhabited localities which were previously granted the city/town status but no longer meet the criteria can still retain the status for historical reasons.

Urban localities in Russia

Cities and towns. Cities and towns are classified by their level of jurisdiction (district/federal subject/federal). While the Russian language has no separate words for "town" and "city" ("gorod" is used for both), in translation, the word "city" is traditionally applied to the urban localities with a population of at least 100.000.

Reutov is a town in Moscow Oblast (Region), Russia, located east of Moscow. Population: 87.195 (2010 Census preliminary results); 76.805 (2002 Census); 68.326 (1989 Census); 50.200 (1970).

Sorry if this question has been answered before, but is this new Novokosino station within the corporate limits of the city of Moscow, or within the town of Reutov or within an unincorporated area?

And Russian-speaking people use the word "dom" for both house and building, which puzzles some Americans. I remember reading about a russophone woman from one of the former Soviet republics (I forgot which) who was seeking asylum in the US because she was subject to political persecution. She testified that she was walking to her "house" when someone attacked her, but upon further examination it was determined she lived in a high-rise apartment building. The immigration judge found her testimony to be inconsistent and not credible and ordered her deported. The ruling was overturned on appeal and she got to stay in the US.

To be fair, the words "gorodok" and "zdaniye" are somewhat akin to "town" and "building" but are rarely used in conversational Russian to refer to inhabited towns or residential (as opposed to commercial) buildings.

William Faulkner's "The Town" was translated to Russian as "Gorod" and Ben Affleck's film "The Town" was translated as "Gorod Vorov" ("City of Thieves") - though the "Town" in that film title referred to Charlestown, an urban district of the city of Boston.

The station will be located within Moscow city, but just few meters from its border with Reutov town.

But it will have exits located on Reutov territory, thus making it the second outside-Moscow town to have the Metro access. (actually, the first one is Krasnogorsk city, but you can ride it only from the left bank of the river, with administrative buildings and expo centers)

I usually dislike the way Russians make trains but this one is a success. Far from being nice in terms of exterior, it is a great leap forward after Russich and other stuff.

The main reason for calling it modern, to me is that it is QUIET. This is a brand new train designed in Mytishchi. 81-760.

And some construction news.

Khodynskoe pole, construction of the first part of the 3rd ring line.

One plot is situated right in the center of a yard:

And a large plot on the "field" (POLE) itself.

When we approached the hoardings and the gate, a security came out and told us not to enter and take pictures. So, we took some from outside.

And some more construction and drilling machinery, which is probably linked to metro, too.

The second vestibule of Annino station was opened today. It's purposed for P+R nearby.

Previously people who had left their cars on P+R had to walk 200m to the other entrance.

He is not correct - there is only one Ring Line in Moscow Metro. He meant Third Interchange Circuit ("the third set of junctions").

First Interchange Circuit - a set of transfer stations in the central part of Moscow;
Second Interchange Circuit - existing Ring Line 5;
Third Interchange Circuit - future rapid transit line, which will be consist of chord lines (#-shape). It will not ring line by no means.
