The helicopter pad was part of the previous design, in this one it seams to have evaporated.

i was told the top crown opens up like a pettle to allow helipad? makes sense

I was being facetious in order to create some discussion, looks like it worked

When I saw initial drawings of the tower well over a year ago with a helicopter coming in to land I thought either the main petals or the internal crown ould open to create the space to land. This would be one amazing site to behold. It will be very interesting to see what mechanisms are used to do this and what sort of turbulence will be experienced at such a height!

Theres supposedly a spa enclosed in the crown... The helicopters landing would make for an interesting soothing massage

Actually I have heard that the tip of the building opens up revealing a helipad. According to CULWULLA it's opening symbolises the opening of a flower.

Good decision I was hopping for this It appears they're looking for a towers relocation ..this happend because of Al Burj maybe they will build there Al Burj as I suggested from the begining I is a fine spot for something taller

Being realistic, for the dozens and dozens of proposed towers in Dubai not every one of them is going to get off the drawing board. Some might be delayed, and some will bite the dust. It's always disappointing when a favourite project doesn't start rising out of the sand, but even in Dubai market forces and economics will determine a tower's fate.
