This is one of the hottest looking buildings for Dubai. It has a unique shape no other building in the world has.

Old render from the first page by the way. I hope it will still look like this.

This is the render on the Burj Al Alam website. It looks slightly 'sleeker' then the original.

Parsons Brinckerhoff signs on for Burj al-Alam

US-based Parsons Brinckerhoff has been named project manager for the Burj al-Alam tower in Dubai.
The 501-metre, 108-floor building is located in the Business Bay development, and will have a total built-up floor area of approximately 450,000 square metres. When completed it will be the fifth tallest building in the world.

Parsons Brinckerhoff will be responsible for managing the procurement of speciality consultants and contractors, reporting on costs and budgets, and developing and maintaining a strategic master programme.

The main construction contract is due to be awarded in the next few months. Piling and shoring work has already begun on site.

Japan's Nikken Sekkei is the architect and the local Fortune Group is the client.

The tower's design has a flower-like profile, with an opening petal design at the crown.

I am just completely in love with this building, the hight is awesome but the best part is that the overall design permits such a height without comprimising the proportions. A 500 m tower is big news, only if they wouldnt be building a freagging 800 m monster next to it hehe

Think the newer version is ok, a bit more subtle, not bad at all though the pre-render was better IMO. (damn you guys got me to start using these internet-slang-abbreviations)

Of all the hotels being built there, this is the one I want to stay in, facing the BurjDubai, and HIGH HIGH up (would say the Armani hotel, but you cant see the BD from there)

Around 5300 Euro per square Meter or 8060 Dollar per square Meter. (I hope I did the calculation right)
