well actually this is also very mixed use, it has commercial, residential and hospitality at the top plus retail at the bottom.

Its not the tallest anything but a nice marketing spiel

100% agreed.

Actions speak louder than words

This is just the tallest so far in Business Bay

Postpone it by a week and you might experience the Burj Dubai (soft) opening and starting of the Dubai Metro service.

When will we be able to see the Burj Al Alam rise, if they keep workin' at this pace?
(Obviously, if it doesn't go on hold again)

Though I have no idea (officially. I don't know the official time table), it can take a while. Up to a year for complete piling on SOME buildings. Not that common but don't be surprised.

Nice!

Do you think that they are now pilling, and then put it on hold, as others skyscrapers in Dubai?

I remember that they found a main contractor but i'm not sure about it.

Sry for my english.

I think this is my third favorite building in Dubai with the Index being #1 and Burj Dubai being #2. Can't wait to stay a few nights here.

No. It will take long a very long time, maybe even a year for BAA to reach the current status of Pentominum. The piling is completed there, here it just started ... and then it's the huge underground and podium part to be build.

Well, right now it does seem like there's more being done on the BAA than on the Pentominium. At least there seems to be more construction hardware and workers on site.

You missed the part that piling in Pentominium is COMPLETED, while here it JUST STARTED.

No, you missed the point. I was just trying to explain where the poster above you was coming from. I myself have been here long enough to be perfectly aware that the Pentominium is a lot farther ahead, but to someone from the outside it's easy to think that with the currently higher level of activity on the BAA site it is going along faster.
