I hope I am wrong, but that site looks pretty dead to me, seems to be on a care and maintenance basis. Has anyone seen a concrete delivery for a while? If those piling machines are actually sinking piles there should be concrete trucks lined up every day?

Hopefully, it is just a very temporary suspension - perhaps there is a redesign on?

The update from October 7th said 247 piles done. This update says 253 done, so that's per month.
That means at the current rate piling will be finished in November 2014!

And this is still just the piling, we were too optimistic when we said the 2020 , with this spead around the 2030 is realistic

Well thats clear that they won't build it with that speed for long time. They will speed up or put it on hold.

And obviously I do hope they will speed up
This is my favourite skyscraper all over the world, it'd be so disappointing for this to be put on hold

Money. Or more specifically, the lack thereof.

I'm just wondering why some skyscrapers' ground work get started and then go on hold... After a little they find a pilling contractor, although even the pilling isn't completed...

It seemed as if there were lots of contractors at the beginning of June, and now that even the pilling isn't completed, Burj Al Alam goes on hold again (it could also speed up, but I strongly doubt about this fact...)

I do want this to be built
