I think that the building itself is pulling itself up because it sure is increasing in height at a rate no man can match!

I can easily see the progress. by next a couple of days, it will change the shape of the transection. can't wait to see that!

It's as if the tower is being built in sections - where the diagonal trusses form a section into which the floor plates are assembled. Once a section is complete, a horizontal truss is laid and then the core rockets up to allow the next section to be assembled around it.

The next section will be the third, and if we look at the model on page 11, it'll be half way through this section that the tower will begin to change shape.

I think they should not rush building this thing. Quality is very important here.

I think there is a facade test in the bottom right of this pic...

Having visted the site merely two months ago, I could say with full confidence, it inevitable that Shanghai will once again rise as a financial centre of the Eastern Asian region. once this phenomenal structure has completed construction, it only took them two month to reach the 150 mark, imagine what can be accomplished and the tremendous potential it would unleash given it another 12 month? things are definitely looking promising by the looks of it.

I would suspect Shanghai would more or less increase its's reputation internationally once the construction has ceased. ~~~

I'm not a skeptic of Shanghai (personally I would want it to rise) but just because they're building fast, it doesn't mean they're definately going to be successful- like trying to become the most important financial city for East Asia if not the world.

It doesn't really matter. And most Shanghai residents care little about the building.

A fairl call, however I was only indicating of the potential opportunities this vibrant new city would provide not only to the locals but to oversea investors, Shanghai has traditionally always been one of the most influential financial centre to China (Asia). It was only during the Mao's era she had lost most of her past glories, however things are indicating the city is quickly regaining her well deserved former consciousness and prestige. arguably today Shanghai is one* of China's most successful city since the economic reforms.
