Very nice pictures. They should fill in those empty plots of land with some supertall skyscrapers. A few 600m(1968ft+) buildings should be put in their places.

It's definitely ahead of Burj Dubai at the moment.
I'd like to add my support for the old circular design - it looks more welcoming and friendly if you know what I mean.
The new design looks far more harsh and fierce for want of better words. Can't place it exactly - looks more like an evil eye on something? As if it stands for the new China that's not gonna stand for anything (ie. the issue over teachings in Japan).
Bring back the old design
PS. I wonder if some idiot will pull a stunt and try and fly a plane through the hole, it'd be tempting - afterall people fly planes under bridges and stuff - well not in a country like China, and not post 9/11 !

if you can wait a week, ill post my monthly updates. yes SWFC has been slightly higher then Burj Dubai.
SWFC is apprx lev31/141m while burjD is currently lev35/135m but smaller floors.
so burj is catching up.

600m, probably not. But yes, they will get around to it with supertalls. There is a reason the plots are reserved.

No way! I love the hole! That's what gives this design such distinction. It's beautiful! I also like the square hole as much as the old round hole.

The hole looks totally useless. It seems like anything above the bottom of the hole would be as useful as a spire. You can use that "extra" space to rent out offices if you fill it in. I guess it's a matter of opinion though. I happened to fall in love with the render that had the hole filled in.

If we took a poll I wonder what people would think regarding the top of this structure.

Wonderful closeups.

You can actually see a worker on the top scaffolding center core wall.

Great photos Cityrain/10025
