Its 99% sure that it would be underground, Broadway is too narrow for the elevated guide way.

Developers excited about prospect of light rail transit in Surrey
May 15, 2015

Light rail proposal includes a 17.1 km line between Surrey Town Centre, above, and Langley

Report suggests LRT would attract investment, generate jobs

METRO VANCOUVER -- Surrey’s plans for two light rail lines have yet to materialize but developers are already queuing up to invest, with some going so far as to build room for the tracks in their current projects.

City officials say a survey of 20 prospective developers found 72 per cent had confirmed they were ready to invest in Surrey if the $2.1-billion light rail project goes ahead. The city notes PCI Development Corp. has even set aside space beside its tower development near the SkyTrain station on King George Boulevard to accommodate light rail in the future

No means Yes in Surrey: Mayor Hepner says LRT still on track despite transit tax rejection
JULY 2, 2015

Linda Hepner says ‘Plan B’ involves a public-private partnership

Surrey’s mayor vows she’ll press on with plans for light rail transit in her growing city even though Surrey residents voted nearly two to one against raising taxes to pay for such a project.

On Thursday morning, Elections B.C. announced the results of a non-binding plebiscite in which more than 61 per cent of those who voted in Metro Vancouver opposed funding transit and transportation improvements for the region by increasing the provincial sales tax by 0.5 per cent.

Of 123,370 Surrey residents who voted, more than 65 per cent cast ballots for the No side.

But Mayor Linda Hepner told The Province she’ll proceed with a plan to build a 27-kilometre network of light rail by relying on a public-private partnership, along with provincial and federal funding

Assuming the compass card is similar to what is available in London, the Oyster card.

Btw in Yellow fever's photos, the testing train on the new line has additional panels or extensions, call them what you may, on them, any reason for this? Are the new trains on the Evergreeen line wider than the previous mark2 cars?

Also how feasible is it that construction and testing would be completed by end of this year or early next?

^ Are you referring to the clearance testing? It is just a precaution on any new transit line.
