yeah, no news . But I expect to be recommenced eventually, since it would be so expensive to knockdown the half-completed structure anyway. Maybe wait another 1-2 years.

Sentra BDNI Center

Jakarta, Indonesia

P.T. Grand Paradise is owner of this project, which includes two office towers and below-grade parking levels consisting of approximately 1.1-million sf (103,000 sm). Tower A is 62 stories and Tower B is 45 stories. Foundation conditions are very poor requiring deep auger-cast pile-supported mat foundations for the two towers. A slurry wall forms the perimeter of the complex's common basement. Outside of the footprint of the towers and within the slurry wall perimeter, the lowest basement slab is a conventional slab on ground. The use of this slab in lieu of the mat foundation slab recommended by the geotechnical engineer saved the owner in excess of U.S.$5 million. Project is currently on hold.

SENTRA BDNI

Making it a temporary entertainment center (EX CONCEPT) is quite an interesting idea. Doesn't EX has a close business relationship with Sjamsul Nursalim, the previous owner of BDNI ?

do they have to knock this uncompleted structure down before re-buiding it? what if they want to keep the old design? can't they just continue the construction like the other project on jl thamrin?

i think it will be very risky to continue the project on the existing structure, but it all depends on the abandon period.
dunno exactly know how to calculate.

Will learn that next semester in my course ...

cheers,

well, it depends on how long the structure is abandoned. Civil engineers will determine whether the existing abandoned structure can be continued or needs to be knocked down. What I meant was that IF the structure is still good enough, then the new developer would find it more economical to use the old deisgn. IF however the structure has been abandoned too long and the whole site needs to be demolished, then a new design (probably not as grand) is more likely to be selected.
