I don't like the fact that they are building the new Granite- tower in front of the great blue twintowers. It will ruin the great view. Not sure if it is called La Sociéte géneral - towers, but they should build Granite to some place else! I hope it looks as fantastic as it used to look from the other side of the twintowers. Overall it's looking good because of the new plans about new towers. I'll visit Paris again when they've built much more of those.

i would like to fully agree with you, the more skyscrapers european cities have the better. i mean its only been recently that either have had skylines. lets not turn this into a new york v chicago forum. plus im a brit and would like to say that we arent all like sanchez and speak out our arses. i say ignore these pish comments on either of our forums. lets support ALL european cities and their developments!!!!!! and in future sanchez shut up unless you have something worth contributing!!!

real talk
as an european im enthousiast - damm how you write that word :p even in french i dont know how to write it anymore - about towers in uk, nederlands, istanbul and russia. this make my continent look good and im happy with it.

plus its totaly certain that one city towers emulates another city to build towers. we live a fantastic era because our continent is becoming a skyscraper continent.

The title of this thread should be modified because the "Tour Signal" will be 290m max tall, according to one of the architect contest insiders.

No 400m skyscraper will be built.

Actually it seems there is a limitation to comply with Aircraft traffic in this area.

The height limit for la Défense is bound to be a 290m maximum forever and ever.

Well, the height limit for that tower is supposed to be at 350m of altitude. Considering the ground level is at about 40 meters of altitude, we could consider that the maximum height of the tower is more of 310 m than 290 m.

As for the idea that no tower will never ever be built above that height limit, I'm vey skeptic about this. The tower was supposed to be 400 meters and it's only later, when the government gave its approval, that the height limit has been reduced to 300 meters.

This is only my personal opinion, but the aircraft corridor supposed to limit the towers to 350 meters of altitude seems hard to believe. Planes are supposed to fly at 3,000 meters at that level, with a minimal allowed altitude of flight of 2,000 meters. This has never been mentionned in the past when the Tour Sans Fins was planned at 425 meters, and that air corridor already existed.

I don't deny the fact that 350 meters of altitude is the maximal height for this specific contest, I'm just more skeptic in the idea that it is an overall height limit untill the end of times...

It looks really good Paris. Well done! A cluster for Paris, France and the whole of the EU to be proud of. It looks well planned too. Looks like London has some competition for best skyline in the EU in 2012.

Someone please close this thread as it’s been superseded by the Paris - Full Summary Projects thread. The 2015 La Défense development project was replaced by a two stage development plan (one from 2006 to 2013, and one from 2014 to 2020), so this thread is now obsolete.

Also, Cyril, please stop spreading rumors. As Metropolitan mentioned, there's no height limit in La Défense, and no problem due to aircraft corridors. Let's inform people, and not misinform them please.
