Thankx Suncity

Caption: Commuters are seen on a busy commercial street in the southern Indian city of Bangalore in this photo taken on October 2, 2004. When narrow colonial-era streets get jammed with evening traffic in India's technology capital, the radio disc jockey on car stereos turns agony aunt. 'I want you to vent all your frustrations by screaming as hard as you want to,' Darius Sunawala tells a rush-hour commuter moaning by phone about potholed roads in Bangalore. Picture taken on October 2, 2004. TO ACCOMPANY FEATURE LIFE-INDIA-OUTSOURCING REUTERS/Jagadeesh Nv

PS I'll eventually get those images on another server

I simply cannot see the point of permitting vehicular traffic on Commercial Street, or for that matter, Brigade Road and perhaps Church Street (which runs perpendicular to Brigade Rd (till St. Marks Road ?). They're narrow, have barely enough space to accomodate 1970s era traffic (probably 100x more now, compared to back then), and they're an endless cacophony of automobile sounds and horns.

They ought to knock down a couple of old buildings nearby if needed, and build a cumulative multistoreyed/underground car/bike parking capacity of 5000-10000 spaces. It will easily provide RoI in no time. Turn Commercial St, Brigade and Church St into cobblestoned promenades, as they really should be. Let the PYTs exhibit themselves in peace and quiet, without the relentless cacophony of vehicles. Think of all those young men who purdy themselves up for the daily homage, only to have the apple of their eye obscured repeatedly by unsightly passing autorickshaws and Tata Sumos. Sigh.

I found them on the net, and the file says ''-unknown, so I don't know either. Maybe the ring-road?

Good collections..

HATS OFF
Who ever this Jai is, hats off to you for such an initiative.
Nice to see that Bangalore is growing. Can't help about bad roads. Hope that also should improve shortly.

CLARIFICATION
There were a couple of comments I saw flouting on what language was 'Namma Ooru Bangalooru'. This is 100% Kannada, the language spoken in Karnataka. 'Namma Ooru' is my city 'Bangalooru' is the Kannada or the original name for Bangalore.

There is a flouting amphitheater in Wipro E-City campus. If someone can try adding a photograph of that flouting theater that should be another feather on Bangalore's cap.

Hi Jay,

Credit goes to the original photographers, who courageously break the long standing taboos in Indian culture by taking photographs of buildings.

Here are the only photographs I've found of the Wipro campus 75,000 sq. ft, 800-seat amphitheatre:
