He's asking if you haven't ever said that only Dubai could have a kilometer high building, Dubaiflo.

Heh beat me to an attempted translation, depressio

From what I can recall, I don't think he had ever counted any city out of the possibility of having a skyscraper 1,000 meters high, but with Al Burj in design phases, I think he just meant to say that the most likely place that a tower of this height will occur first will be in Dubai.

Of course Dubaiflo should be answering this though. Sorry about filling those thoughts.

I would think that one big challenge will be to pump the concrete up to the to the working floor. I think I read somewhere that they would eventually have to use four stages for pumping and I wondered if this might take so long that curing and overheating might be a problem. Perhaps they will have to move to using buckets on the cranes to get the stuff up to the top.

Speaking of the first thread. I noticed a comment saying the final height would be revealed when the structure was near completion - I guess it's going to be around mid 2008 then before we here anything official. By then they'll be doing the glazing, interioros, and up/ or is it down? to the last 20 or so floors.
I wonder, were there any photos of the site with just the hole before they poured the first concrete? Or when they did the piling? The first ones I remember seeing were of the larger pit area after the concrete had been poured and with the rebar sticking out of it.
Picture updates earlier in the week were excellent btw! Great work. Could see so much detail in them! Again, kudos!

Like as that German guy, Dubaiflo, would really need your help on understanding something written in his own NATIVE language: Deutsch.
