Yes of course but a city of many tall bulidings over an area could have an a difference. Even a relatively small building has wind shear effects.

Will future generations be proud?

They might actually look back and say "what the hell were you guys thinking" with regards to many things... environmental pollution, world debt, poverty, executive pay, resource waste and depletion, a World population of 6.5bn.
I'm here for the architecture, and it's great, and the vision of the country is awe-inspiring - but I don't expect future generations will be proud of us for most of what we've done.
I recomend this amazing video where this university professor explains the problem of exponential growth in the scope of limited resources...

yes the first setback is lev36 or 137m /450ft high! its actually catching up to SFWC.this is approx 141m atm.

another height milestone for Burj Dubai!
137m is the height of the tallest pyramid (Cheops).

the next worlds tallest structure eclipsing a former title holder!
great shots smussuw

Burj Dubai has caught right up to SWFC which is at lev31 or 141m, just 4m higher then BurjD

and burj dubai is likely to fall behind SWFC once the wings catch up.. the core will be slower than probably.

that first setback is actually the 4th, since the wings will be set back too.

It's gowing really fast now, it won't take long before he will suppass SWFC

Btw, it looks like it's growing with an average speed of 1 meter a day, that's just f*cking incredible!

Looking the pictures, looks like the building it's now very slim, I can't imagine the impression when it would be 7 times taller!

90% of buildings CAN NOT take a plane... well it depends on the plane.. it your talking about a small Cessna, then fine... if your talking about a jet, then thats a different story.. what happened to the WTC was incredible, and it was amazing that they stood sooo long considering the consequences.. those were FLYING bombs (full of JET FUEL)! Its been said by many other engineers that most other buildings would have collapsed within moments of going through that (if not instantly).. by the way, the WTC was built in mind with taking the impact of a small Boeing jet.. I think it was a DC-7 (correct me if Im wrong), so those twins were quite mighty despite the supposed design flaws.. I also heard that they could withstand 250mph winds!! they werent as shabby as many people I hear nowadays make them out to be..

I dont know about the burj, but the designers did say that the Burj could withstand the same type of attack as the WTC took.. I dont know if I believe it... could it be because of the concrete?? no matter how thick that concrete is, the Burj is so thin towards the top, that it looks like it would take just as fatal of a blow as the WTC took if that same situation unraveled I hate to say it..

How do they figure out that sort of thing anyway?
Wow you guys still think the Plane took down the towers, eh?

Jet fuel ignites and burns up within minutes, and it's done. Jet fuel doesn't cause a 110 story building to implode on itself and burn for a MONTH.

You did give me a good laugh tho

Is BD construction update #1 no longer in the archive?

I do not see it. #2 is there and is about to be gone as well?
