A nice small, dessert city.
Why in good's name did they ruin the city's clean image with streets named after villains and idiots? Geez, I wouldn't want to live on Robert Mugabe ave! |

Thanks for viewing, harkerb.
HEHE.. I don't get it also, street names such as "Castro" and "Mugabe" don't suit such a small and well kept city. What's to do there anyway ? |

Excellent photos, SE9!
Windhoek is such a nice looking small city! I wonder what is there to do in such a small and isolated city. I could only imagine the weather there is very hot. I wonder how much rainfall that Windhoek receives yearly. |

Windhoek may be small, but its very clean! Surprisingly clean for an African capital, but it lacks the vibe of African cities.

Everything looks so spotlessly clean so that it really makes some European cities look "dirty",thanks a lot for the pics on Namibia. stormshadow, are you a Namibian?

Possibly one of the cleanest cities on earth! I can think of just Singapore and some other japanese cities matching this cleanliness.
Windhoek is really beautiful but I wonder what is there to do in such a small city? Are there any festivals or events held there? |

WOW! I have never expected an African city to be that clean, colourful. I have been to Angola a couple of times and cities there did not look like that.

Slodi, as far as Angola is concerned: yes, Angola cities are different, no doubt about that ... but which cities look beautiful after 30 fucking years of war??? Angola needs some time, construction is ongoing but wounds are still bleeding. That is normal to my mind.
Windhoek is squeaky clean a lot of cities of its size in Germany even look "dirty" and run-down if you try to compare both. |

Matthias, you right about Angola. I am sorry, the war wasn't on my mind while writing that post. Hope, Angola will recover after the war soon.

wow. Such cleanliness and beauty.
African cities are definitely unsung despite being better than many other cities in more talked about places. |
