The flower of the east because it has the most unique design

These are the prominades and the streets who are also part of the flower project.

I voted for the Flower of the East.

Gorgeous looking project - and proof that height isn't everything.

flower of the east, plus it's building period style buildings on the street, so that wins.

Burj Dubai, because it's construction symbolizes the dawn of a new skyscraper-era. Beside that the design is great.

It does. 7 stars is self-awarded.

1) ICC
2) Burj Dubai

I would have picked SWFC if it had the round hole

Iran gives go-ahead to 1.7bln euro tourism project

TEHRAN, June 10, 2004 (Reuters) - Iran's top foreign investment decision-making body has given the green light to a 1.7 billion euro ($2.0 billion) luxury tourism project on the Gulf island of Kish designed to rival nearby tourism hotspot Dubai.

Islamic rules on women's dress and mingling of the sexes are less strictly enforced on Kish although women are still required to wear headscarves and cover their bodies when swimming, and alcohol consumption is banned.

The "Flower of the East" project - the largest in the tourism sector since Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution - reflects increasing efforts by the OPEC power to attract foreign money and diversify its economy away from staple oil.

Iran's economy recorded strong growth of 6.7 percent in the fiscal year to March 2004, down slightly from 7.4 percent last year. But economists fear the strong growth is largely due to high oil prices and could falter when prices fall.

"The Foreign Investment Committee studied and ratified the proposal of a German company for the construction of a tourism, recreational and residential complex in Kish Island," the Economic Hayat-e No daily reported on Thursday.

Officials could not be reached on Thursday, the start of the Iranian weekend, to confirm the announcement.

Foreign investors have taken a growing interest in Iran, a country of 66 million people, since approval of a foreign investment protection law in 2002.

A consortium led by Turkey's Turkcell won a 2.4 billion euro deal this year to build and operate a mobile telephone network to compete against the current state monopoly.

Tourism has been identified as a potential growth area for Iran for many years. But poor infrastructure and concerns about regional instability keep foreign visitors down to a trickle.

The 200-acre Kish project ( www.floweroftheeast.com) is the idea of a group of European investors led by Iranian expatriate businessman Khodayar Alambeigi, chairman of Germany's Hansa Chemie AG.

Project managers Drees & Sommer AG say the complex will include a 7-star hotel to rival Dubai's 7-star Burj al-Arab, a marina, 27-hole golf course, sports clubs, shopping malls and 4,700 luxury apartments.

They say the project, aimed largely at Iranian expatriates seeking a holiday home in their native land, will be completed by the end of 2009.

Kish, which lies just 125 miles (200 km) north of Dubai is a designated free trade zone and has witnessed slow but steady growth in mostly domestic tourism attracted to its luxury hotels and shopping malls packed with imported consumer goods.

SWFC. Even with the removal of the circle it's better (imo) than the others. I really like union square too.
