Yesterday I noticed on the northern Ljubljana bypass (a 4-lane fast road, 100 km/h; part of the ring also) that they started controlling the traffic!! What does this mean, that from now on you'll have to drive 100 km/h at most (and I did it, didn't wanna get caught )?! And what about at the interchange with the eastern bypass/Styrian motorway, you'll have to drive 80?!
I saw the board at the entrance on the ring by Bežigrad (Dunajska cesta) in the direction of Maribor (to the east).

And is by any chance this done on the whole ring (higher speeds are alowed there though, it's a real motorway, mostly 130 km/h)?

130 kph is a fast speed. Most motorways in Australia are either 100 kph, maximum anywhere is 110 kph. I'm not sure in the rest of Europe.

Verso: Really, they installed those radars on the northern bypass too?

Anyway, the speed limit on the controlled section of the western bypass is 100 km/h, but only because you're approaching a tunnel and an interchange, otherwise it's 130 km/h. I'm not sure why is the northern bypass an expressway and not a motorway (hence the speed limit is 100 km/h instead of 130 km/h), probably to make sure transit traffic goes round Ljubljana and only commuters use the northern bypass?

Sincity, 130 km/h is the usual speed limit on European motorways. Some countries also have lower speeds (or higher, Italy has a speed limit of 150 km/h on motorways with 6 or more lanes and Germany has no speed limits on some sections), but most people drive over 140 km/h anyway.

U meant the eastern one, I guess! Yeah, I know, but it's from the beginning and I think it's controlled only in the direction of the south (Koper, Novo mesto, Zagreb,... whatever). Btw, in the Golovec tunnel it's even 80 kph and I saw cameras in there (to south).

This is definitely the reason! For now there's just a few of it (2 km) left for transit on the very western side of it, between Šiška (Celovška cesta) and the future interchange with A2 called Koseze until the A2's built between Koseze and Šentvid.

Hehe, Austria's got 160 kph on some test section in Carinthia/Kärnten/Koroška whatever, near Spittal/Drau just 12 km long and just 4-laned.

Lol, na juriš!

Well, anyways, yeah, I meant the eastern bypass, silly me. Heh, did you hear the western bypass will be turned into a 6-laned motorway after the Šentvid tunnel will be completed?

And yeah, I heard about that 160 km/h speed limit near Spittal, however that's only a test, it doesn't mean that we will get a limit of 160 km/h anytime soon. I hope we will though.

No, this time it's for real, I saw the DLN (državni lokacijski načrt) draft a couple of weeks ago.

For the western bypass or the 160 km/h speed limit?!

Can't believe either

No, no, the western bypass.. You don't need a DLN to impose speed limits, heh..

Ok, yeah, I'm short-minded , u really don't need a location plan for speed limits.

Btw, congratulations for the 700th post , I'm approaching the 100th, I guess I'm gonna chill out when I comment and put my nose in everything and when I mix shit in every thread I come to and hijack it with some Slovenian stuff.

Dun&Bradstreet raised its rating for Slovenia from DB2c to DB2b.

Nobody mentioned that here.

Yeah, but, looking from the south, the tubes are 3-laned only till the Šentvid exit, which is partially in the tunnel (that's so cool), after that they're 2-laned.

I think making Šentvid a full exit was a good idea and so was making the Golovec tunnel 6-laned, which prevents the need for an expensive tunnel enlargement should the ringroad be expanded to 6 lanes in the future (and it will be sooner or later).

Verso: Oh yeah, didn't even see that one, thanks!

That's why we have you, I talk enough about Slovenia in other (non-Slovenian) threads.

We have to add that most of those vehicles will be produced in Slovenia. Although I'm not sure how will they manage to do that in such a short period. They'll have to as that was one of the conditions.
