Shanghai city bridges

Map of the main bridges. North to south: Yangpu Nanpu Lupu Xupu Fengpu Songpu. Fengpu and Songpu lack interest, they are awful. However, there is a sixth bridge approved, Minpu, scheduled to be completed by 2010.

There is another huge project u/c in the north of Shanghai, Chongming bridge.

That render tells the facts

At this map you can see that there are two other links proposed for Chongming island. Don't know about them, sorry.

When you talk about bridges in China, you are talking about scales here.
Absolutely marvelous.

Something doesn't seem right about that bridge. Its span is 10 km. So the pillar would be something like 2 km in height! Are you sure? Doesn't seem so plausible to me.

Hey, that title is reserved!

Because of the many islands, Denmark is the country of bridges. The main parts of the country, and most of the greater islands, are connected by roads and railroads. One of the world's longest bridges connects the eastern and the western parts of the country, and there is a large bridge to Sweden, too. There is still no bridge across the Baltic Sea to Germany, but it will be built in a few years. http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denmark
I actually saw a great show on National Geographic about the Chinese bridges today... they are looking really good!
