FRANKFURT: New 5-tower complex at the CBD

I have just chatted to a friend who is working for Morgan Stanley and he told me about an upcoming project in Frankfurt with up to 5 highrise buildings near the river.

Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund and the german Deutsche Immobilien Chancen real estate group have recently aquired a prime site in the Banking District area near the river. The site is being occupied by the german firm Degussa, who signed a long term lease contract for the office space at this site. Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund want to transform the site into a new city quarter.

A german architect has already made a preliminary design. The new quarter includes 5 highrise buildings (14fl, 16fl, 2 x 17fl and a 41 storey skyscraper).
Currently there is only the approval for one 16 storey office tower (which has been proposed for the site already many years ago), but the site owners are working closely together with the City of Frankfurt government to get the approval for the rest of the project. One of the crucial point is the share of residential space in the development. The city government wants more residential units. The project will be built in several phases.

That looks really nice. A good compliment to the Commerzbank.

How long will the approval process take and how strick will that process be?

Is it likely that the 41 storey tower will go ahead and when would likely construction start if successful?

That looks like one of the most valued properties to develop in Frankfurt.

Where is the former design for the Degussa tower gone ?
Knowing Frankfurt , even the UEC project didn't come true this one is bound to stay on the drawing table imo

Looks great. The idea to bring more apartments into the central city is excellent as well, Frankfurt desperately needs this.
