hindi naman lahat ng philippine mestizos light-skinned...

Bakit ako, kahit na mestizo, eh fair ang skin ko?

Most Filipinos have mixed ancestries unless they are pure Aetas, Igorots and Negritos. So if someone says here they are half Filipino and half (whatever race) they most likely have mixed ancestries.

So, kalahati ng kalahati is ika-apat na hati, that means MIXED na yung iba dito.

Kung wala kami sa ayos sa thread na ito, e di wala lang.... hehehe,....

actually, its also funny how pinoys are so concerned about being called a mestizo when in most parts of latin america it is a derogatory term synonymous to calling someone's mom a bitch. Try calling a South American person here in LA a mestizo and watch your ass get beat.

Mestizo really means 'mixed' and probably have notorious connotations to dogs with mixed breeds, in other words - mutts. I think thats how Latin Americans see it perhaps their population in their countries constitutes the mestizo majority.

mes·ti·zo [mess tzō]
(plural mes·ti·zos or mes·ti·zoes)
noun
Hispanic person of combined ancestry: somebody with mixed ancestry, especially somebody in Latin America of both Native American and European ancestry.
Mestizos form the largest population group in many Latin American countries.

I would like to add that Isabel Granada's mother is a Brazilian and her father is a Pinoy Seafarer.

(I rather use the word seafarer because seaman though in layman speaking means all those who work onboard ship. Onboard ship seaman were the crew who were neither Merchant Marine Officers nor Marine Engineers)

The Brazilians were a mixed-race, the natives the so called american indians
were more pinoy-chinese looking than the rest of natives in Latin America.
Then they were mixed with Portuguese and in the 18th and 19th century, then were mixed with Africans who were imported by the English to work in
their plantations in South America and the Caribbean islands.

I guess Isabel Granada sometimes resided in Angeles City since her husband is
a Kapampangan or a resident of Angeles City. I have seen Isabel Granada two years ago during the graduation of my son in Don Bosco Academy in Mabalacat. Her in-laws son is the classmate of my son in DBA.

Mestiza nga si Isabel. By the way, ano nang nangyari sa kanya?

Like the sig says, I'm half and half. Paternal grandparents both came from Fujian, China. Father born in Philippines. Mother side Filipinos from Bulacan but no idea about further family history or whether there was any other foreign genes or not.

In my youth I looked more Pinoy but grew more and more Chinese-looking as I grew older. Must be because of the food.
