Imagine is 480m worth of scaffolding collapsed in a typhoon. That would do ALOT of damage. I used to live in The Waterfront (the first apartments completed in Union Square, oh I miss that apartment!) and I remember being awoken one morning when the scaffolding collapsed on Sorrento tower 5. All 200m+ of it! Felt like an earthquake hehe.

Can someone remind me when the whole Union Square project started?

I am also curious to know how this place looked like before. Any pictures welcome

The Western Harbour Crossing was opened in 1997, Kowloon Station in 1998 and the first buildings from the Uniuon Square project were finished in 2000. It's build on land reclamation, so it used to be water.

To be honest, I don't really like the other towers built in union square, although US6 is pretty good.

BTW, nice to see it rising a little more

I keep seeing two different figures for the number of floors, 108 and 118. What is the correct number? Does it have something to do with there being no floor numbers ending in "4"? I can see how the highest floor number would be 118 (not using numbers with "4" in them and having 88a, 88b, and so on), but how many floors will there actually be?

BTW, below is an image I got from KPF (but it does not really answer my question). The nice thing is that it seems like they use vector graphics to scale things... this was the highest resolution I could get using two monitors:

This tower will be immense. I love it. When is it set for completion?

Wow! Is that.... lighting for the Arch in between the legs? The windows of the residential units should also be lit from inside as well, so it doesn't look so dark.

I hope that these buildings can somehow be integrated with the existing Symphony of Lights across the harbour. 2IFC shooting lasers at ICC and the other transformers of Union Square doing the same thing. Epic!

I think this is a picture form CAD file. Thanks for your information.

I think 88a, 88b is mechanical floor of ICC. IFC2 use similar floor naming.

Naming of floor of a building as you wish. But it is necessary to get approval of local government dependent.
