I can see the latest headlines, pun not inteneded in the first line, or is it?...
"Birmingham new libray has fallen through. BCC have decided to stop plans for a new library in the city centre. It has been found funding is needed to strengthen the land where the new split site libary will be situated. This would cause too many delays" where we, here at SSC, and my 3 year old monkey (who happens to work in Birmingham planning office as a typist, weird that), know the truth, 1) there's no money for a split site 2) the delays have occured because the council have been dopes over the plans. 3) they never had money in the first place. |

You can see the tunnels route on the planning maps off the council.
Im sure with an artistic flair they could have put it near where the Forward statue was.

Gawd! - no spatial awareness at BCC! - the BMW statue will be really cramped if positioned between the War Memorial and Baskerville House. (... PS When a kid I used to think the old Bull Ring's bull was a dinosaur - honestly - anyone else the same?)

Sorry I meant 29th May about four weeks away! It is round the back of Duddeston station and this new premises collecting many (but not all) of BCC's artifacts in one place is pruportedly 15,000 sq.m so pretty big then! It has steam engines, Corporation Cars, sculptures and lots more to boot! Details are secreted away on the BMAG website, but there should be special busses going from BMAG to the Warehouse on the 29th (Bank Holiday Monday)

Just remembed I like
![]() inside the Art Gallery, does that count? And I like their bust of a young Napoleon Bonaparte, all argance and the future in his eyes. And their Painting of Baccus, neither of which I could find at http://www.bmagic.org.uk/ Oh, and this cheery little number, not just for the painting, but for the fact they've hung it in the cafe bit!

I took a few Photos at Old Square over a period of time, Unfortunatel it is a bit run down, but it could be pure class
Here is the Old Square History sculpture ![]() And closeup (sorry about the stiching) ![]() Tony Hancock thing, which some scumdogs have decided to vandalize ![]() Justice ![]() even the benches are a bit special ![]() When will BCC get its act together and clean up this area! |

Great pics MJH - thanks for those!
![]() I daresay that when the developments around this area begin to near completion we will see some local beautification. Wild@heart - I am not sure whether the sculpture has been saved. Hopefully it is in the council store! MJH - do we need to register to see the council stores or do we just show up on the day?
