[Bosnia and Herzegovina] - Pictures, Projects, News IV

Hello and welcome to the Fourth installment of the Econ-Development-Projects-News-Pictures Thread.

Some things to think about:

1. If you have nothing constructive to say don’t say anything at all.
2. If you are offended don’t stoop to the offender’s level and engage in a pointless debate.
3. Stay out of Political Debates the truth is that the person on the other side will not change his/her mind just because you tell them.
4. Don’t insult a person’s ethnicity or religious practices.
5. If you wish to be respected remember that respect is earned not given.

Banja Luka's aquapark construction continues, outdoor pools will be open by start of summer season

Otvoreni bazeni biće u funkciji tokom ljeta

ITALY: SEMINAR ON THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BiH POLITICAL PARTIES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE STATE ENDS
Quote:
CADENABBI, March 28 (FENA) – A two-day constitutional seminar on the role and responsibility of BiH political parties for the development of the state and further steps in the process of reforming the BiH Constitution ended in Cadenabbi (Italy) on Tuesday.

The seminar, organised by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, was aimed at summing up activities and agreements on constitutional reform so far.

Participants in the seminar reached a high level of agreement on the fact that the agreed changes to the Constitution represent a large step for BiH towards the EU.

They concluded that the proposed changes are not perfect, but that they represent a significant improvement from the present situation. This sends out a positive signal to EU representatives and members of the European Parliament that BiH is prepared to accept responsibility on its road towards Euro-Atlantic structures.

They underlined the need for further harmonisation of positions between political parties in order to achieve permanent stability in BiH and improve the standard of life of its citizens.

BiH has a clear EU perspective and cannot afford to lose time in this process, was stated at the seminar.

The opening of a broad forum for constitutional discussion and more intensive involvement of the civil society in the process of further changes to the BiH Constitution is planned for the upcoming period.

Ocjena ustavnosti entitetskih simbola

Sarajevo, 27.3.2006.

DAVIDOVIC: NEXT ROUND OF NEGOTIATIONS WITH EU ON MAY 12
Quote:
BANJA LUKA, March 29 (FENA) – The BiH Chief Negotiator with the European Union for a Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), Igor Davidovic, said on Wednesday that the second, technical round of the negotiations is scheduled for May 12 and that it would focus on the modalities of free trade.

He said that the next round would be one of the most complex ones, stressing that he is satisfied with the course of the negotiations and the degree of mutual understanding so far.

Davidovic said that the matters of failing to cooperate in full with The Hague Tribunal could lead to slowing down of the negotiations, and eventually to interruption, but noted that the EU has not yet sent such a message to BiH.

He expressed hope that the problem of cooperation with The Hague would be resolved as soon as possible.

Davidovic held talks on Wednesday with the RS National Assembly Speaker, Igor Radojicic, about the role and responsibility of the Parliament in fulfilling the conditions necessary on BiH’s road to European integration.

Radojicic said that the National Assembly supports BiH’s road to Europe and the activities of Davidovic and the negotiating team.

The next negotiations will also focus on the sector of agriculture.

In this sense, Radojicic said that this is one of the priorities of the RS Government. The National Assembly will on April 10 hold a meeting on structural adjustments of agriculture in BiH, given the envisioned division of competencies between the State and the Entities.

PLATTER: AFTER GENERAL ELECTIONS TALKS SHOULD FOCUS ON REDUCING EUFOR TROOPS

Quote:
SARAJEVO, March 29 (FENA) – The size of the troops within the ALTHEA Mission in BiH should remain at the same level in this year, but after the General Elections and establishment of the new government, talks should focus on reducing the troops, Austrian Defense Minister Gunter Platter said on Wednesday in Sarajevo.

Minister Platter, who is heading the delegation of the Austrian Defense Ministry and the Austrian Armed Forces on the visit to the BiH Defense Ministry and the Armed Forces, discussed the reduction of EUFOR troops in BiH with State Defense Minister Nikola Radovanovic.

After the meeting, Austrian Defense Minister told the press that it is planned that the forthcoming reduction of EUFOR troops, which will be carried out gradually, should result in reducing the number of EUFOR troops from 6.700 to 2.500.

He said that assessments of the mission are conducted semiannually and that in his opinion, the gradual process of reduction could start in the next year.

Platter and Radovanovic also talked about improving the bilateral relations between the BiH and Austrian Defense Ministries and Armed Forces.

They signed the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the BiH and Austrian Defense Ministries, which represents the legal framework for establishing the necessary principles of cooperation and identifying the sectors of mutual interest.

Additionally, talks focused on the European Defense and Security Policy, where Minister Radovanovic said that the field of the European Defense and Security Policy is not very much present in BiH, and underlined the need for engaging the BiH representatives in the training programmes in this sector.

Austrian Defense Minister said that his country plans to organize courses for the security and defense policy in Vienna and that BiH representatives would be invited.

Digitalna televizija će otvoriti nove mogućnosti
Quote:

Emiteri će moći ponuditi gledaocima emitovanje HDTV (televizija visoke rezolucije), mogućnost uslovnog pristupa određenom kanalu, pay-per-view, pretplata i slično.”

The project is worth 2.105.830, 40 KM, of which the Government of Netherlands ensured one million euros, while the Federal and the cantonal ministries each ensured 50.000 KM.

The Project envisions recovery of 87 housing units in municipalities Srebrenica and Bratunac, and creating of conditions for return of over 300 persons.

The occupants of these housing facilities include 74 families that are currently in collective and alternative accommodation in Cantons Sarajevo and Tuzla and Federation BiH. The Project also envisions reconstruction of infrastructure and 87 grants for sustaining return.

Heidi Burkhart stressed that over 400 applications from occupants of alternative accommodation have already been collected. The applications of 89 families from Srebrenica and Bratunac are being considered.

The FBiH Government deems that the projects in which several government levels are engaged represent a qualitative approach to resolving the return problems, said Music.

Canton Sarajevo Prime Minister Zvizdic said that the Project is very qualitative because apart from recovery of houses, it will also provide grants for agriculture as a model of supporting sustainability of return.

The first phase of re-registration of refugees and displaced persons identified 186.000 citizens as displaced persons in BiH. Of this number, 90.000 displaced persons are in the area of Federation BiH, approx. 60.000 are in the area of RS and Brcko District, while there are 36.000 internally displaced persons in Federation BiH.

I tu iskopa čudesan reljef uklesan u kamen.

Druga priča vodi nas nekoliko stoljeća naprijed, u vrijeme srednjovjekovne Bosne i vjerovatno najpoznatije historijske ličnosti Jajca svih vremena, u doba velikog vojvode Hrvoja Vukčića Hrvatinića.

"Jes', mislio on Turke prevarit'.

Bez munare.

I zbog ispričanih i neispričanih valja nam tamo otići. Jer je to Mitrin, Hrvojev, Stjepanov, Sulejman-begov, Titin… grad zaslužio. I od nas i od UNESCO-a!
