The Atlantis Resort; expanding to UAE

Hi everyone! I'm not sure if you guys know about this "architectural gem" located on Paradise Island, New Providence, Bahamas, but it's expanding...

This past January I had the pleasure to spend 8 days in the Royal Towers of the Atlantis Resort. For all of you who love architecture, this is the resort for you. The hotel features the world's most expensive hotel room (the "crown jewel" at Atlantis). So what's so great about this hotel room that would cause people like Oprah Whinfrey to pay $25,000.00/per night/per minimum of 4 nights? It's a 10 room bridge suite, suspended 17 floors above the amazing resort. Unfortunately, I can't afford a minimum of $100,000.00 (with a waiting list of five years), so I stayed with the normal people on the 9th floor! . Anyway, this is nothing new to those of you who know of the Atlantis.

What's new and exciting is that Kerzner International, along with Nakheel and The Palm Company, are planning to expand this resort into the United Arab Emirates! A near exact replica (aside from a few Arab achitectual styling) is being built in Jumeirah Beach, Dubai, and will most likely power as the world's most expensive hotel. It's really amazing, I urge you all to check it out! The Atlantis Bahamas can be found at www.Atlantis.com and Atlantis The Palm can be found at www.AtlantisthePalm.com .

So, I'm new here, so I hope that you haven’t all heard about this to much.

Thanks!

That's Sol Kerzner's development in the Bahamas. A famous South African who was instrumental in the development of Sun City in SA during the Apartheid years. I've been hearing about his development in Dubai for a while now, but I have yet to see it get off the ground.
