Isn't this the site of the Land Secs shopping centre redevelopment which is in this thread?

Fantastic pics Downfallen - never seen Stratford looking so good!

Does anyone know what is going up on the site of the old Esso garage - Wikimapia link - I was in the Kwik-Fit next door yesterday and they told me it was going to be flats.
They also told that the bloke in the property behind them was offered £3M for his warehouse.

Spirit Of Stratford still piling. But the ridiculously dense low-rise is steaming ahead.

How many flats are projected, U/C or topped out in total in Stratford before 2012? If there is 2-3000 in the olympic village alone we must be talking 5-10000 altogether??

Are there really that many people who would want to move there? I reckon it will be filled up by people just arriving in London from Oz or Europe thinking: Zone 2, Central Line, new build, nice! and then tries to get out of there as soon as they have moved in

Sorry if this has already been posted, I don't remember seeing it.

206 - 214 High Street, Stratford
A 25 storey tower containing 131 residential units. Architects are i.concept (I've never heard of them either).
Mayor's report

The High Street is becoming quite the tower canyon.

Already known but new rendering

Stock Woolstencroft Stratford apartments: Gold, silver and bronze
09 January 2009

These are the first images of a trio of mixed-use apartment blocks overlooking London’s Olympic park, which have just been submitted for planning.

The £31m scheme, designed by Stock Woolstencroft for Stratford High Street Developments, includes 174 residential units and 1,450m2 of commercial space. The QS is the Barry Tankel Partnership and the sustainable energy consultant is XCO2.

They should perhaps consider recladding those commie blocks. They look terrible amongst all these nice shiny buildings.

Why is this architecture so uninspired ? It is completely predictable .

Some of the windows are so tiny .There are some blocks that look like prisons . Thank god I don't have to live anywhere remotely like it .

I hope this isn't a bad sign, cladding on Athena has not moved since December. This may have fallen foul of economic woes :-(
