The French Left have done stupid things before, like cancelling the Rhine-Rhone Canal, or destroying the French financial sector, so I wouldn't trust them. I'm confident only because from a legal point of view, stopping the project now that the building permit has been issued would be very complicated for them. Also, they have little chance of pressuring the banks not to finance the project, since the banks are not French.

Time Square, à New York.

i saw the Tf1 tower at evening news with this presidential info.

i often think that this urban modern intervention lacks in such a giant town.

I wish a place like times square in Paris . Bastille, les halles could be the right places

Montparnasse could be a good area for a such thing.

The natural square for this was historically place de l'Opéra.

And if you notice, there's actually lots of advertising all around the square. However, there's a whole municipal regulation about their size and their color (only black and white are accepted). So in the end, it doesn't remain much.

It's temporary, only during the Elections period.

Opera is too classical place with all the limitations to be a sort of times square.

I talk about a 'new gen' plaza a la times square or shibuya in tokyo with modern signalisation taht suits to a younger or geek aspect.

geez it's time to expand this city and create new zones!

tolbiac would had been te perfect area with lot of new things but we are behind big metropole again

Even La defense would had been the right place and again nothing

Paris sometimes seems to 'sleep'

You can easily see it from the Périphérique ring road and its bridge across the Seine River, since TF1 headquarters/Tower is right in front of it.

Rive gauche à l'air d'être un sacré morcreau / Left bank is quite a piece of city

Again: THIS is the international section of the forum. So stick to English, people. Nothing else. Thank you.
