Hives on Paris's roofs, an initiative already well established in one of the most green global city in the world. Focus on Paris's honey :

Quote:
This is the most expensive honeys in the world (15 EUR 120g), but also the most chic: the honey of Opéra Garnier. Made by Jean Paucton. This long-time Opera set-designer installs there his first hive in 1981, that he wanted to leave only for some weeks before bringing it to his country house. But 2 months later, Jean realized that bees were perfectly fine.

This 76-year old man has in his possession today [october 2011] 8 hives, for approximately 450 000 bees. In spite of the general idea about pollution bad influence in a big city like Paris, the honey has an excellent quality. The reason is, by the way, very simple. Paris does not use any pesticides and artificial products and possesses a large diversity of plants, therefore, bees can take advantage of more favourable conditions.

Hôtel de Crillon - Renovation

This is one of the most luxurious hotels in the world. The Hôtel de Crillon closed March 31 for two years of work.

In the wake of other Parisian hotels like the Ritz, the Crillon has closed its doors for a major renovation. The work will take two years and cost 80 million euros. The hotel is of course completely overhaul its decoration and also provide a pool and spa which were lacking. But the key issue, says Georges Panayotis, CEO of MKG Group, a consulting firm specializing in the hospitality industry, is to upgrade from a technological point of view.

For five days, from 18 to 22 April, the famous Parisian hotel situated on Place de la Concorde will make its furniture and auction. Crockery, curtains, dressers, lamps, desks, sofas and even bottles of wine ... 3,500 pieces will be scattered under the hammer auctioneers Artcurial.
