If there's anyone interested this summer in Paris, you can visit an exhibition dedicated to the architect Rudy Ricciotti at the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine. His most high-profile works done these days are the Jean Bouin stadium in Paris and the MUCEM in Marseille. Also recent is the new Islamic Art pavilion at the Louvre.

I ignore where this figure comes from but here are to date the highrises that will be built in Paris in the near future:

Tribunal de Grande Instance (160m)(Paris 17th arrondissement) / Work to start this month
RENZO PIANO

Tour TRIANGLE (180m)(Paris 15th arrondissement) / Demolition work to start this summer
HERZOG & DE MEURON

Tours DUO (115m & 175m) (Paris 13th arrondissement)/ Work to start possibly in 2015
JEAN NOUVEL

Tour IMEFA 52 (189m)/ (Issy-les-Moulineaux) / Work to start in a few years (2015...?)

I visited the new "berges de la Seine" (Seine quais) arrangements today. Very minimal (no permanent construction), but tasteful and successful already. Nice to see the area given life, can't wait to go back (maybe tomorrow).

hello alexandru i agree with this realization but i am a little against too.

yes : good and serious work, Varied attractions, "paradise" for families and children, Animation, more "city life".

no/against : Small disfigurement of a site registers on the Unesco heritage with floating rigs (the Seine river is already enough blocked) and animals painted on the floor.

conclusion : Quality realization, good work, but a lack of "prestige" for such an unesco heritage site.my note : 13-14/20.

Thanks for the updates vonbingen, very nice pictures.

@vonbingen Now that I've seen the pictures of the work done at the river bank I feel as you. I'd have liked to see way more permanent trees been planted. And I don't know it isn't what I was expecting. As the way it is right know with all those temporal things I feel it's kinda a waste of money and it's not something beautiful and as you said with prestige for been a UNESCO heritage site.

In Paris Area they prefers low rises than skyscrapers.

3 new BIG offices buildings projects.
__________

1. city of ACHERES.
OSMOSE project.
60 000 sqm offices.
north west of paris

__________

2. city of SAINT DENIS
by chaix et morel architects.
project UNIVERSEINE.
105 000 sqm offices.
north of paris

__________

3. city of PALAISEAU.
project MP3.
80 000 sqm offices.
south of Paris

__________

These 3 projects add up 245000 sqm of offices,
with this surface we could build 5 skyscrapers.

PARIS PENINSULA PALACE.
last news.

We’ve been aching for more details on what Peninsula Hotels has in store for us in Paris, having walked past the construction site on Avenue Kléber earlier this year and last spring. After playing around with their seriously high-tech bedside tablets, we finally have a few more details on what’s going to be inside the 1908 Beaux Arts building in the city’s 16th arrondissement come opening time next year.

First of all, say it with us: rooftop bar, rooftop bar! One of our favorite hotel pursuits will be possible at the Peninsula Paris, with a planned rooftop restaurant, bar, and terrace serving ‘modern French cuisine’. The terrace has capacity for 50 people, so we bet this is going to be one hot ticket once the sun is out. Equally, you can bet we will be getting our behinds up there toute suite after opening to tell you all about it.

That rooftop bar crowns seven stories of guest accommodations and facilities above ground, with an additional three basement levels. Total room count stops at 200. Like all Peninsula Hotels, there will be The Lobby on the ground floor, serving food all day, with a terrace facing Avenue Kléber. The one existing rendering of the exterior shows an elaborate metal (and we assume glass?) contraption over the suitably grand entrance, guarded by two white marble lions.

A Chinese restaurant brings the Asian heritage of the group to Paris, while there will also be the very en vogue cigar lounge, seating just eight. The 18,000 square feet spa downstairs will have an indoor pool with poolside café for drinks, treatment rooms, changing rooms, and fitness center

Rates are not available yet, but we’d put money on anything less than four figures a night (i.e. €1,000 - $1,330) being unlikely for the majority, if not all, of the accommodation. Better start saving now…

i am not so shure jex7844.
look at the windows they are not Transparent but almost opaque, I bet that there is an adhesive protection above.
And in the black circle, we see the white facade without the protection.

but i don't know....wait and see. but i think there is a protection above.
