... and what will see in Frankfurt beside a few skyscrapers? In Paris, skyscrapers are only extra bonus things beside a million beatiful historical buildings.

I really hope the hermitage get built, they are so gorgeous and would put paris in the top league, I don't like tour Phare as much, but it's got good height and would also contribute massively to la defences presence

I know that, obviously paris is a greater city, it would be silly to compare a small city like Frankfurt to a world city like paris, but I was talking about skyscrapers, and Frankfurt is the financial Capitol of the euro countries

Why the obsession with height?

So than it will be exclusively for the rich people, mostly foreigners who come once a year, and Parisians would be forced to live outside of the city. I sincerely hope that Paris won't follow London's example, because that would be sad.

“French romances occupy a central position in the development of medieval European
literature. Their most popular subject matter by far was the Arthurian legend, which, though it
had its origins elsewhere, was first cast in romance form in France: the Round Table, the
tragic love story of Lancelot and Guinevere, and the notion of the Grail quest were all French
innovations."

I think he was referring to the commieblocks in La Defense, and he's right, there are a few.

What? They look nice, especially the Beugrenelle-Seine and Les Mercuriales.

You people have no understanding or appreciation of mid-century architecture. Hopefully one day more people will come to their senses and not wish demolition for buildings like these...

^ These are fine although not great, however at street level they are a complete disaster - full of concrete walls, tunnels, roads and dead ends, but that's to be expected from architecture of that period.

yes and i hope they will preserve this architecture this unique architecture of the 60s 70s very typical with concrete slabs overpasses footbridge concrete, tunnels under the slab this is unique brutalist of the seventies, an idea of le corbusier......separation between roads-cars pedestrian areas..and la defense is the master of this architecture conception.

sorry but we can't always destroy former architecture....
areas like meriadeck bordeaux, la part dieu lyon, and la defense beaugrenelle paris are unique on earth. on the floor roads, first floor overpasses slab, yes typical brutalist full concrete thinking from the 60s 70s...like chandigarh etc.

they renove continually la defense beaugrenelle and meriadeck.

la defense is more dense more impressive than frankfurt when by car you drive around la defense youre in a real canyon with towers around
in frankfurt the towers are Thinned out, scattered....its not impressive frankfurt is only impressive from far.
It's not about quantity it's about QUALITY.

La Defense has some nice buildings but the towers in Paris are disgusting.
