"pathetically cheap, crappy and tasteless". - Le collectif perfide Albion de SSC.

Anyway this tower will be concealed by tour Phare.

Let's wait to see how the tower looks like once finished. I guess it's too soon to judge.

Here is a rendering by JR Lyon showing all the four 200m+ skyscrapers announced recently. The 240m Viguier tower, to the left of the main axis, is not correctly represented (we should be seeing the edge of the tower, i.e. the shortest side of it, and not the longest side as on JR Lyon's rendering), but the approximate location and height of the Viguier tower is correct, so it sort of give you an idea how La Défense will look in 2012.

You can compare with Metropolitan's rendering, who also placed all four 200m+ skyscrapers on his rendering.

Viguier's tower will be 180m tall. NOT 240m as reported a few days ago.

This you're gonna love.

La Défense today (picture taken by JP)

La Défense in 2012 (Metropolitan added the towers that we know of, but there may be other towers in 2012, such as the Viguier tower and the Ministry of Public Works tower which are not shown here)

Skyscraperpage has been updated. Here are the Paris projects they have so far (either u/c or approved).

And here are the top three Paris projects among the tallest skyscrapers of Western Europe (either built or approved), for an idea of size. I didn't include Spanish skyscrapers, because of space limitation. Sorry to the Spanish forumers.

Not yet. Apparently people are detered by the complex design, and nobody has endeavored to draw a diagram yet.

It is a pity you did not include the four 220 + m Spanish skyscrapers that are currently under construction in Madrid for a more realistic comparison… Anyway, great projects for Paris that will have the tallest skyscraper in Western Europe again?

Thank you brisavoine!

To add to what Kika said,
Shard/London Bridge is 310m which is a nice suprise, preparing 2007
- 122 Leadenhall Street (225m) in the City of London is preparing for construction
- Heron Tower (217m) in the City of London is praparing for construction
- DIFA's Bishopsgate Tower (288m) in the City of London in preparing for construction
- Riverside South (214m & 189m) in Canary Wharf, London is prapering for construction
- North Quay (216m, 203m & 120m) scheme in Canary Wharf, London is preparing for constriction

But the Paris's proposed projects are really nice. I'm not too keen on the tower with hair though. But then, that's my preference.

Nice one Paris. Keep it up

Towers less than 225m are not included in this diagram.

Not on Skyscraperpage. Unless you include the antenna in your measurement?

1. It's not an antenna, it's a spire

2. If Heron's spire doesn't count, then neither does Generali's

I find it funny how Generali appears ahead of the shard because of it's spire(even though the shards top plant floor is higher than Generalis), but Heron doesn't even make an appearance in your little diagram

And I find it even funnier that the shard's roof height says 305.8, and the spire says 305.7!!!!!

Anyway the Tour Phare's top plant floor will be (much) higher than sexy LBT.
