Fortunately Paris is Paris (with all its benefits) and the French are the French (the most productive of the OECD working the least amount of hours a year, deal with it , taking good despite socialist taxes), considering how politicians will act as a brake on Paris ...

Vivement la Métropole ...

And me I predict no less success to this municipality than the former one re-elected with more than 54 % of votes!
The one which allowed for the first time since... nearly 40 years... (oct 10, 1975) some Paris areas to rise OVER 37 m high (50 m and 180 m) and consequently some TOWERS AGAIN.........SOOON !

Instead of saying ridiculous politically oriented non sense.

PROOF : the preparation works of Triangle tower HAVE already begun !

Which country is the most successful military power in European history ?
The Second Book of General Ignorance

“French romances occupy a central position in the development of medieval European
literature. Their most popular subject matter by far was the Arthurian legend, which, though it
had its origins elsewhere, was first cast in romance form in France: the Round Table, the
tragic love story of Lancelot and Guinevere, and the notion of the Grail quest were all French
innovations."

Quartz shopping mall (Villeneuve-la-Garenne, northern inner suburbs).
This new shopping mall opened today.
86,000m² - 925,000 sq ft, 165 shops and restaurants.

This shopping mall is located on the bank of the Seine near the A86 freeway.
The surrounding of the mall are still made of industrial buildings and wasteland but this is about to change.

Unfortunately, this mall is made for car, it is not very pedestrian friendly.
Pedestrians have to enter in the mall via the parkings.
The shopping area is located on the upper floors while parkings space are in the lower floors.

There is a terrace overlooking the Seine river.

^ A bigass dislike for this one. The design is sort of acceptable, but the location isn't.
Stuff like this should be either build around La Defense or further out. It's attacking the very fabric of the classical Parisian cityscape.

Don't you dare to repeat failures of the past 5 decades, Paris!

Probably the failure to replace the old city centre with contemporary towers and highrises. These towers are outside of the city of Paris, like LD too, which many people think it is a shame not to have been built in Paris instead (and I would disagree).

Edit: Either that, or it's just crass inability to locate Issy city on a map.

The utterly stupid Seine Front Towers seen here are among the Parisian failures of the past decades I referred to. This tower is going even higher, in proximity to the classical fabric of Paris. This is a crime in urban planning, frankly.

It's not of Le Corbusieran proportions, but still notably idiotic.

Le Corbusien was insane is his brain
Maybe some crazy person like him wanted to do so...but 99.9% of the population are totally against such projects.

Hmm... this tower is nothing near the center, you can't compare with Front de Seine.

Not sure what to respond to people who think that even outside Paris and of its specific urban fabric there should be no tall contemporary architecture because it damages Paris' urban fabric. That just smacks of being (again) contrarian for contradictions sake (or, rather, for the sake of annoying in return some of the French posters here).
Considering for the purpose of this discussion that the mentioned Seine cluster was a failure, then it just doesn't make sense how exactly is moving out of Paris, three kilometres away of the Seine cluster, in a completely different urban fabric, "repeating" the failure. It is obviously learning from it and doing things differently.
Something that would help visualize the silliness of this argument is to look on that pic again, locate Sacre-Coeur somewhere small in the background, then mentally go further away 4 kilometres somewhere in the suburbs, outside of Paris and its urban fabric, and try & claim that towers there would be in a "ridiculous" location that would be an "attack" to Parisian urban identity.
