The tower has got a haircut. Some users count 63 floors, others count 70. The back has been strongly modified. The netting is more visible. There's no more connection with the CNIT. Eventually, there's now a new little building at its basis in the side of the great Arch which wasn't there earlier.

Now if it goes about my personal opinion. I think the tower is less slender than it used to be. That probably explains why I find it less elegant on the first rendering in my last post. I personally like better the new back than the older one. However, some other users disagree with me on that point. The new hairstyle isn't that bad. Of course it's less wild than before, but I personally find it better integrated to the netting of the double-skin cladding.
Thanks. When can we expect to know weather it will be built or not? What you personaly think its chances are of getting built?

Its chances of getting built are especially high considering that it will start construction without pre-acquisition. What I mean is that it doesn't have to wait potential office space buyers before getting built. Its construction is still expected to start by 2009 as earlier planned, though many French forumers consider that a usual 2-year delays should better be expected.

The model of La Défense, in La Défense Museum.
Some pictures I took to show you news angles (there is no rendering of those views)

Those models are not reliable imo. They look much taller than expected towers.

That what I though too, especially the Tour Phare.

Has its height been reduced? I've read somewhere that it might down to 275m?

I think it's 275m from the plaza and 300m from the natural soil.
I don't think Phare's height was scaled down. Only the design has changed a bit.

Pictures of La Défense that I took earlier this month, with two skyscrapers under (re)construction.

Granite Tower under construction (184m/604ft).

Axa Tower under reconstruction (159m/522ft to become 225m/738ft, 240m/780ft with spire). It will temporarily become Paris's tallest skyscraper.

Rendering of the Microsoft Europe, Africa & Middle East regional heaquarters (right) and the Mozart Tower (left), next to the elevated Périphérique freeway, at the border between the 15th arrondissement and Issy-les-Moulineaux. This area is 3.4 km/2.1 miles from the Eiffel Tower.

Brisavoine, this picture of La Défense is beautiful, I like Coeur Défense with the shades pulled down. :-)
I really appreciate this building (microsoft headquarters) along Seine.
