Houston's Hardy Rail Yards development

i found this on dallasmetropolis.com. I didn't know Houston had something planned similar to Victory Park in Dallas. Houston's really coming up in the world! Click link!

I'm speculating that we will see this development to start to pick up steam within the next year to where we see a development "boom" in that area.

i've only been in Houston for a little under 2 years going to TSU so I'm not too sure of the zip code. All i can tell you is it looks like it will be north of downtown connected by University of Houston downtown. Even U of H downtown is starting to boom with growth enhancements to the college so both will tie in together.

I'm still deciding if i will stay in Houston or eventually move back to Atlanta but i hope i'll be around to see it either way.

They're both being developed by the same people.

Eh, I didn't care to read so far into that one. Besides, I already saw this thread on HAIF.

yeah that is sweet. Houston is really trying to keep up with all the trendy developments happening everywhere across the U.S. I think i read something about their new Intermodal transit station being right next to this developement.

actually the transit station was an old idea, atleast to move the grey hound and amtrak. Now they're finally doing it, so the city & amtrak sold those lands, and the developer bought the land.

Well what can I say, we just copy copy copy!

I don't get some people. When Houston doesn't do anything hip or trendy, Houstonians and the rest of the country do nothing but complain about Houston's lack of progress. But when there's actually a good plan underway to increase walkability and pedestrian-friendly access, we're labled as copying.

I got news for you, every city copies. There's only one true city that began on its own and that's New York. And who's to say it didn't copy its development off of an already developed foreign city? Dallas copied, Denver copied, so i'm really missing your point here!
