Who's financing all this sudden construction in London? Did they just lift some height bans or something, or is this a government project?

finance coming from far east / middle east / international banks - London is seen a safe haven for investment. The height of towers has been steadily rising in the financial district - pictured above since the Gherkin (bullet shaped tower) went up and the Heron tower approved (far right with white mast)
small floor plates and the cost of land mean taller towers - (all depends on demand of course) the 2 under construction in the pictures are mostly for insurance I think

Just as the "city" of London was getting some decent new high rises that were eclipsing those ugly things from the 60's and 70's along comes that fat bastard (20 Fenchurch st.) to mess it up again!. The "Pinnacle" that is on hold is a million times better and would be a real plus for the skyline. There must have been some "substance" going around the office the day the planning commitee approved that disaster!

Would be great if someone did a drawing of progress compared to completed.
Is it going to get much taller? Love this building!

Hi guys, I took some pictures last weekend which I 'd like to share with you

I am not such a techno like most of you (I always carry this Casio exhilim in my handbag and among my toiletries for just in case), so I tried to take clear pictures.

Shard looked really pretty especially when viewed from the train Stansted Express. It was very impressive, really huge.

next time, when I speak to one of those construction workers, I ll try to make a better sentence so I can at least make friends and not hear " For you babe, I ll make it MUCH bigger" (to my question " how big is 't going to be?" by which I meant "how tall is it going to be?" )

Anyways ...
