Blitz MEGA PLEX... !!

Hi All, it's been a while gak mosting di sini yah...

I dont know if you heard the buzz about this project, it's very huge so that it creating a big buzz in my community.

Blitz will make significant competition to existing 21 Cineplex Group, the de-facto monopoly cinema group in Indonesia. Planned to be launch this year, not only in 1 place, they will launch the entertainment center in Bandung, Grand Indonesia and MKG3 this year!!!. And guess what, just to give you how exciting the project is, they will have 12 cinemas in Grand Indonesia, you can book the ticket ONLINE, and while you are waiting for the shows, there will be XBOX 360 with SAMSUNG LCD

Meinhardt has recently been engaged by PT. Graha Layar Prima to provide Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing engineering for several Blitz Megaplexs in Indonesia.

The project comprises the fit-outs of exclusive cinema complexes in 5 different shopping malls located in Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya. Each complex has 8 to 12 cinemas complete with concessions, lounge and game centre etc.

The first Blitz Megaplex is located within a shopping mall in Bandung and is due for opening in April 2006. The next three are in Jakarta and are expected for to open for business between the end of 2006 to mid 2007.

The project is to be designed to meet international Standards.

The architect for this project is Unick, a Cinema Design Specialist from Glasgow, Scotland, UK.

If u're in Jakarta now, please go to ITC Mangga Dua. In a game shop corner, all shops display the huge LCD Samsung Flat Screen with XBOX 360. The graphics & sounds really amazing an jaw breaking..

Hmm.. good investment or not a good investment? Cinema attendance is declining over the past years. There are not enough blockbuster to bring the business up.

Is there some sort of cooperation between Samsung and Microsoft to jointly promote their products in Indonesia or something?? Or is it just coincidence that that game shop has the same thing as what's gonna be in the Blitz cinemas?

Great news btw, hopefully competition will raise standards (and push down prices) of the cinema experience in Indo.

I think it is. 360 is marketed as a hi def gaming device and samsung is one of the largest lcd manufacturer.

good point alvin, I hope it will raise standards. btw, watching movie in good quality cinema is cheaper in oz than in indo hehehe

I dont think so.. but if you managed to get Video games community. Samsung is #1 choice for playing 360. Btw, prices can be push down if the products had been commoditized.. in this example (same like what happened with Pertamina), i dont think they will start push down the prices for initial strategy, but yes - im agree, there will be competition in raising the standards..
