Great photos... Thanks for posting them...
The last time I've been to Makkah was three years ago... I feel I have to visit it soon... The whole city will change in the near future in a good way as I can see...

I think it looks shorter because of the enormous area it covers. If it was more slender, the height would be more emphasized!
But I didn't know Mecca had favela-like settlements! I always thought there was social housing in Saudi-Arabia!

I'm starting to get very excited about this building as it's rising quickly now and will be so tall-one of the tallest in fact.I read somewhere that it will be the largest building in terms of floor space in the world-is that true?

Whoa, there is no way that can be a real proposal. That's bigger than most cities.

acctually now yearly piligrims are about 2.5 - 3 million and rising (KSA is acctually trying to slightly drop the numbers)

but nevre the less it hard to find accomodations to all of those people and not forgeting there is a piligrimage that takes place anytime of the year its called umrah so those people still need accomodation too no ? and yes that project will be built becuse they are already taking down buildings in that area... the project will also provide an extended praying area which is heavily needed.....

God bless KSA for this
