But back on topic: What will be the price of this enormous project? I didn't get yet, whether this is a luxury object or if it is supposed to be shelter for the pilgrims??? Anyone knows?

Who cares about the price? Mecca from all the places, it is the most predictable destination for visitors. You know that millions visit it every year for certain, is therefore one of the most prosperous real estate markets in the world. Everything you build there will be successful and will pay off eventually, since demand is steady and insatiable.

Skyscrapercity has indeed come a long ways since I joined this site 6 years ago. At least people has better vocabulary nowadays. Before, a lot complained about the really really bad and very basic English. Now, it is the opposite....

Intimidating, imperious rather depressing design without much architectural value. I am sorry but I don't like this project at all.

Yeah, you need to delete that quote. He apologized anyways.

I wonder if Abraj Al-Bait will become the next biggest hotel on record. Seriously, it looks pretty big.

Tell this all the other thousands of forumers also who use foreign and/or mother tongue signatures. E.g. BPS...

People are really kick dirt on this building. And I don't think the design has anything to do with it. It's the mass, this building the size of a small city. I'm captivated everytime i see its progress.

I really like how they have tents on the top of these towers. It's something I have never seen before and I think it adds a very interesting feature to this ginormous project.

I really like the tented "crown's" of the towers. It's quite unique and original.
