From http://www.traveldailynews.com/pages...hotels-in-2010

Quote:
Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel in Saudi Arabia, will be the focal point of the iconic Abraj Al Bait Complex, which includes seven towers and is adjacent to the Masjid al Haram, the holiest site in Islam. The 858-room hotel will offer Fairmont Gold, the brand’s exclusive lifestyle product offering, numerous dining outlets and conference facilities. The 76-storey hotel tower, at 577 meters (1893 ft.) high, will be among the world’s tallest and features a 40-meter (130 ft.) clock, more than five times larger than Big Ben in London, which will announce daily prayers to the Muslim world. A Lunar Observation Center and an Islamic Museum will add to the fascination of this one-of-a-kind property. Opening Q3 2010.

So, by the end of the year Dubai will loose the world record for the tallest hotel in the world. It hold it than nearly eleven years. I don't think Dubai will ever built a hotel tower which exceeds 595m.

A touch of Chicago

It sort of resembles a giant version of the Wrigley Building.

I think the current height is somewhere near 400m. But it doesn't look like it's anywhere over that number yet.
